HILDA PO POLSKU
”Hilda po polsku” is a personal history project based on the artist's experience as an immigrant in Poland for 6 years in particular and what is called Culture shock in general. The project inverses the usual paradigma of Polish citizens immigrating to Sweden. I analysed in this autobiografical project, the experiencing of specific attitudes in the relationship with the persons who enters in contact with and the educational and social system. The elements on which the acceptation by the Polish culture belongers depend are overpassing the linguistic barrier, views over history and personal identity, local traditions over politeness, structure of conversation and social relations. The contrast is between the swedish ”minimal”, egalitarian, political correctness based culture and the process of integration into a rich, traditional, religious, dynamic society in full development.
